HISTORY OF COMPANY
Shawn O. Geurin & Associates, Inc. is a full-service real estate appraisal firm specializing in condominium, single residential, and two-to-four-family properties, and a significant portion of their services includes review, counseling and assistance with legal issues. The firm works exclusively in Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus and Hillsborough Counties, with a staff of four certified appraisers. The firm formally began doing business in November of 1995, and incorporated as a Subchapter S Corporation in January of 1996.
Shawn O. Geurin began appraising with Steven Boldt, SRA (dba "The Appraisal Company") in 1989. Mr. Boldt specialized in litigation and the luxury home market. In 1993, Mr. Geurin accepted a position with Phil L. Gehres, SRA, MAI & Associates, formerly Vice President and Chief Appraiser of Barnett Bank, once the largest bank in Florida. In 1995, Mr. Geurin earned the Senior Residential Appraiser (SRA) designation from the Appraisal Institute, and in 1996 earned a Residential Brokers License. He also served on the MLS and Appraisal Committees of the Board of Realtors. Mr. Geurin is a qualified expert witness in the Sixth Judicial Court, has served as a Special Master for the Pinellas County Board of Commissioners for several years, and also serves as mediator for the Bank of America.
Jonathan Cole has been appraising since January of 2004 and received his certification in the first quarter of 2006 and is FHA approved.
Gilbert Ellsworth has degrees in Law and Philosophy and was a Magistrate of the Court in Illinois. He has been appraising since February 2002 and received his certification on July 2004 with more than six years experience.
Cristina Loughridge is a lifetime resident of Pinellas county. She earned a B.S. in Accounting from Auburn University and a Masters of Science from Baylor University. Ms. Loughridge joined our firm in August 2005 and received her certification in the 4th quarter of 2007
Tonnette Orebaugh is approaching three years of experience and has received her certification in the 3rd quarter of 2008.
